The WSO is a project of NPO Worldship, a non - profit organization founded in Tokyo in November 2014 with the aim of providing children around the world with their “first orchestral experience”. The project has two objectives; to implement an overseas performance program providing children across Asia, who do not have the opportunity to receive an education in music or the opportunity to watch live musical performances, with the chance to gain an interest in, and experience playing, music; and to support overseas youth orchestras.

This is not the first time that the WSO will be performing in Cambodia, but this time is a very special one, as the concerts will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the friendship between Japan and Cambodia.

We hope that participants will enjoy the orchestra l music and, through this, will feel closer to Japan. We also hope that the concerts will help those that attend gain a deeper understanding of the friendly relationship that exists between the two countries For media registration and inquiries, please contact Culture and Information Section at 023 217 161 (Ext.: 1121) or email: info.jpn@pp.mofa.go.jp for more information of the festival, please visit the Facebook account, Embassy of Japan in Cambodia.
